Feeling a little tired now. I keep waking very early so I listened to Radio 3, it's all soft Classical music at that time. I like most of it but I'm not to keen on Opera singing, too shrill... but very talented of course. Decided that the Cello is the best instrument of all.
Went to view that house later, it was in an area I have lived before and quite like - there's a beautiful park nearby that has good memories for me so I got the chance to visit it today.
The house depressed me actually, as soon as I walked in it felt wrong, like death was hanging around, gloomy and old smelling - but it needed too much work and there was a pub car park at the back so I won't be buying that one :(
As my Retro songs seem to go down well at the loops I just uploaded another, quite a simple mix because the joy is in the lyrics and vocals.
Nice to see TeeGee posting even though he obviously feels pretty crook (Australian for sick) Sound like everyone has had some bother this week... roll on the weekend.
We Play Man United in a Cup game of Friday - apparently the club have sent loads of allocated tickets back because no one can afford Man U's charges :(

I was thinking today :) What am I doing with these forum threads I keep starting?
Are they necessary or right for wikiloops?
It's a music centered site, a jamming, learning place full of like-minded talented souls :)
Forums have maybe had their day, overtaken by social media sites :o
Wikiloops is international and the common denominator is music, not language.
Am I asking too much, trying to make it something it isn't? After all, what I do excludes the vast majority of users!
Maybe I'm just being self-centered because I really enjoy getting people to join in stuff. Perhaps I'm missing my kids being nearby and still needing me! Mums and Dads here will agree that we have influence on our children for a very short time before they become independent and often smarter than us :D
Could be that going through my old recordings has made me a tad nostalgic for a simpler time :)
I'm not looking for answers on the Diary because everyone who contributes seems happy and enthusiastic and they're all too nice to tell me anything negative. Just saying :)

Shamika wanted negativity, so here's a negative update to the diary. 😁
- There is an elf living in my house, who ties the instrument cables into a knot at night. I've never seen an elf, but I suspect it's the same guy who always steals socks from the washing machine.
- I can't play the bass. I played for a couple of hours today and I liked what I got recorded. Well, at least until I listened to what I had played.
- My bass has old strings. I still won't change them.
- My cat pooped on the floor
-It also threw up on the floor
-I ate too much chocolate again and I hate myself for it.
-The upstairs neighbor is annoying. It sounds like they are assembling Ikea furnitures there all day and doing sumo wrestling at the same time.
-My playstation 4 broke
-Chin to chest and onwards to new disappointments (saying)

P. S. It's going to be a terrible game tonight. Two bad teams trying to see who can be slightly less terrible on the night. I'm not looking forward to it to be honest.

Hey TeeGee, I hope you're a Leicester supporter, there are so few of us left these days :(

About 12 years ago we rented a property with a view to die for, I stayed awake most of the night just looking out into the harbour and watching the fishing boats in the moonlight.
While I was there I wrote some really good songs (imo). I always thought I would buy that house if it ever came onto the market but I knew it would be too expensive.
Today I saw it was for sale.... and amazingly it was affordable, I thought my prayers had been answered.... until I read the words "Needs a full renovation"
This was my view 12 years ago

Sadly this is what the interior looks like now

No, not an option after all :(

- Beautiful day. I had almost forgotten what the sun felt like. It feels like the darkness of winter is melting away from the brain.
- I learned yesterday on Wikiloops that it also snows in Brazil.
-I finally got the song recorded. For some reason I have moments when I hate everything I play. Well today I had fun. 🙂💪
- I know that Shamika is waiting for a bass for her song, although I haven't promised anything. 😁 Well, just a moment and I'll download it.
- Today's picture is of poor quality, but I'll put it here anyway. (The picture shows a frozen pond next to my gym)
-In an hour I'll go to the sauna again, but I won't take pictures there. The body of a man of this age is not a pretty sight. :D

:D ... and notice how it matches the curtains, very stylish :)
FEB 8th - I woke early again - 4.44, this is a number that often pops up in my life and I've often wondered the significance, if any. Apparently it represents "Clarity and decisiveness" well that's obviously nothing to do with me. I get 111 quite often which means I'll achieve a goal... shame my football team don't get this :(
I watched the match last night, we actually went ahead in the first half but I dozed off at half time zzzzzz and when I woke I'd missed Manchester's goal - a few seconds before the end they scored again (5 players offside, but no VAR) so we're out of that competition, I don't really mind!

Sorry Shamika, it was as i thought, a horrible game by two horrible teams. The goal was offsite, but I read somewhere that the linesman knew it was offside, he just did not want to watch another half hour of that s**** . Man I used to love watching United play, it's getting worse every season for 11 years now. Terrible.

- I think I'll take a break from making songs for a few days. Mixing takes too much time and it is not fun at the moment.
I thought the devil would meet the musician at the crossroads where he would offer a deal.
My devil is happy with my suffering even without a contract when I mix music, he doesn't have to wait for my death to torture me. 😁
- 3.5 hours of light exercise today. I took a picture of the city center when I got home.
- I think I'll just sit on the couch, wearing only my underwear and watch hockey for the rest of the evening. I don't follow any team in particular, but sometimes it's nice to watch a match.
I don't like soccer at all. I get bored every time I try to watch it. 10 minutes is the maximum time I can watch a soccer match. Well, sometimes very rarely I might watch a national team match.

Monday 10th February.
Trying to think of things to add to the diary every day has made me realise what a boring life I'm living.... the sad thing is, I'm comfortable with it now and have no desire to do a 'bucket list' of things before I “shuffle off my mortal coil” :)
* People usually think the lyrics I write are about myself but in fact they are mostly a creation in my head of things I might do or have done, fantasies played out in music. Although I've been happily partnered for many years, I rarely talk (or make songs about that) it's boring for listeners.
* My second team, Liverpool, went out to everyone's surprise yesterday, but the NFL team I support won the Superbowl, I didn't watch, the timing was wrong. I got into them via a US friend in 2018, I wrote a song for them and they won for the first time, I'm their lucky charm.
* I'm awaiting delivery of a new headset today, if I can get it working my sound might improve... or not.
* Did I ever mention that breakfast is my main meal of my day. I have 9 different cereals topped with 10 different fresh fruits, tinned prunes and grapefruit, nuts and yogurt... all covered with a selection of milks (coconut, almond, oat, and soya) sprinkled with ground ginger and cinnamon and supplement vitamins. Tea before and coffee after... but because I'm feeling spare today I snuck in a chocolate biscuit too. I don't need to eat again today :)
PS, I think I'll move to Finland, it sounds much more interesting than Mid England... and naked men in the sauna would be a tourist hot spot I'm sure :o:D

*watched the Eagles smack the Chiefs around yesterday for the Superbowl, was nice to see them get destroyed *evil grin
*yard work most of the weekend, we've had rain recently and the weeds are thriving! :o
*gonna have lunch with a childhood friend of mine, have known this guy since i was 5 years old. we were even college roommates later on. always good to catch up with him
*i felt depressed when Shamika posted about this Valentine's week, there's a whole week of Valentine's :o i'm glad they don't tout that in the US, which is surprising, since they could capitalize on sales, etc.
*speaking about that, i think Feb/March/April are 'depression' months, i've heard that somewhere...could be colder weather...who knows...but if you need help, please reach out and ask for help, and remember you are loved and needed <3
*2nd cup of coffee and back to work, lots of to do, so little time...

Don't worry Shamika. Most people live boring lives. In fact, we repeat the same day over and over again. 🙂
My day was normal too. I ate breakfast, took a shower, went to the gym, came home, played bass..
But to make this day not quite the same, I will introduce my cat. Here is Toivo.
Toivo is a nice cat, but he hates me. There isn't a moment that Toivo isn't staring at me and looking angry.
Well, as my youngest son says about cats: Cats always have a murder on their minds.
So I think Touvo's staring is quite normal.

Finland is a pretty boring place 🙂
England has big cities and small villages. There is an opportunity to choose between silence and the events of the city.
Here there are only small towns and even smaller villages where nothing happens.
Sauna is always a good place, as Major 3rd sang yesterday. 😁

Helsinki is a good city for tourists because it is easy and cheap to go to Tallinn and Stockholm by ship. Then you will see 3 places during your vacation.
There is not much to see in the rest of Finland. Except maybe in Lapland, but that's an expensive destination to visit.
Well, I can recommend music festivals to everyone who likes to drink a lot of beer.
There's an ad I made. Welcome to Finland. 😁

Wanted to create a new album with some tracks from 2024. Listened to the selection over and over again in my car for several weeks and couldn`t find a single track that I was happy with. So I`ve gone back to something I did 2 years ago which I called vanity remixes, taking tracks and correcting obvious mistakes and trying to get the mix better. Started last night with #310637 which to my ears now sounds miles better and closer to what I had originally wanted to achieve. As I`ve got a rather long list of tracks lining up for the same sort of treatment I`ve got my workload cut out for the next couple of weeks.
This remixing task begs the question of if I actually want to upload the remixes. There`s really little added value for anyone except myself. Maybe I`ll follow rootshell`s example and upload the odd track to youtube.
Had chocolate cake yesterday which reminded me of a cake eating competition in Austin,Tx some years ago. Someone from the clients team challenged me to eat 2 cakes at a rather nice restaurant by a lake. Did he tell me beforehand that the restaurant served not a piece of cake but the whole cake? No. Did I threaten him with physical violence afterwards? You bet. Only, I wasn`t much able to move after I`d won. Hah, great days.
Read with interest that Shamika is house hunting, supports Leicester and has a weakness for men in finnish saunas. By contrast, I love hunting in houses, support Arsenal and do not have a weakness for men in finnish saunas. Just saying...
