My Sounds,friend.
In discussion we will find ballance. As per me NO to AI is not the right step as soon everyone will find that music software which are in use are AI based or at least with AI data base.So I still thing that required clear regulations within Wikiloops .This will minimize effect of AI expansion which is definitely all over.I personally will follow internal regulations but at same time wish Wikiloops to not be an defensive site but modern site Wich will get more and more followers.Regarding professional or non professional musicians this is quite big discussion.Let simply state for people which are not making money and covering cost of living with music are non professional. There are mixing variants music for enjoyment and from time for time music for money.Big discussion indeed.

As a drummer, it annoys me when "drummers" upload obviously quantized and programmed parts needing 3 arms to play. Still many like it. I purposely upload shit as a protest, both musically and otherwise.

Krillo of course you are right but again all is part of compromise.Resently in one club famous guitarist used drum machine, looper and backing track files.People were happy. Why he don't play with band, because full band is expensive isn't it.

My point was mainly 'where is the line drawn'. If you upload something altered, then label it "sequencer", because it is. Also, complaining on peoples uploads will become old real quick.

The issue is, as I see it, 'social media disease' where everyone is trying to outdo everyone else. It stops being about art, and becomes competition instead. That said, the whole process of wikiloops is a problem, as I've said before (and was not understood).

I don't think AI is the main issue, but pretending to be something you're not. Just write in your upload that you faked it.

Long discussion.... yes using side files without notifying rest is an issue. In many countries if you use AI for anything you should put mark- AI. If you are using sound files with no copyright issue and modifying same this should be ok but notification should be there. If you are using electronic pad with variation of sound there is it this issue? If you use recording software with various plugins is it this issue? But again and again all depends of Wikiloops rules and requirements .

I think using Ai without telling anyone is cheating and if you tell everyone in the description, it's still cheating. I think VSTs and hardware guitar pedals to enhance your sound are fine .. it's still you uploading. Ai not so much. In reality, I think it's a scourge designed to take our humanity out of the equation. It's garbage but a great new toy for lazy people and non musicians. More entertainment for the masses to put us to sleep. It just too easy. Play with it on your own time but don't upload it here. No one is impressed .. well some are, the ones who fall for it and we probably all have at times. LOL

I myself don’t like the slick soulless tracks of music that are AI. I like authentic musicians who play from the heart even if their skills aren’t quite developed yet. (Myself included) A few “wrong “ notes and mistakes are still genuinely authentic musicians doing their best effort!

AI is moving too fast for my taste. What I actually need is one willing to explain guitar chords with the patience of a saint—because expecting that from a human teacher would border on cruel and unusual punishment.
As for whether AI bots bother me with music uploads here on WL: we all play poorly enough that you can tell instantly, thankfully. Suits me just fine.

Thank god my music can never be confused as AI. I knew there was a reason for my bad musicianship 😂😂😂😂

Is it AI or not? Take the example of Pat Metheny’s "Orchestrion" video—which I think is fantastic: the MIDI programming was done entirely by Metheny and then mechanically transmitted to real instruments like drums, vibraphone, and so on.
Is that AI? Yes and no.
That’s somewhat what’s happening right now, though it’s not being transmitted to real instruments but rather to technology that goes far beyond anything we’ve seen before—things like VSTs, samples, BiaB, etc.
Let’s be realistic: I’ve been using WL for nearly 10 years... if I see "sequencer" in the track descriptions—like drum loops—that’s fine by me. If it isn’t mentioned and I happen to notice it, it’s no big deal; we’re here to have fun, after all... we don’t have anything to sell on Spotify or anywhere else.
Another thing—though maybe it's off-topic—is when I see a violin icon for a track's instrument (or a sax, cello, etc.) but realize it was played via a MIDI keyboard; I find myself thinking, "It doesn't sound natural." But hey, it doesn't really matter; we're used to that sort of thing.
Anyway, I haven't exactly moved the debate forward, but I just wanted to share a few thoughts. :D

I think that Wikiloops is the dream that every musician had ever... to share ideas and projects, even is a form of collective learning, fusion of styles, good atmosphere among friends, always with respect...
