First off:
yes, that is exactly what "tracks shared" tells you, the number of uploaded remixes and templates of the past 24h :)
As for the "two panels in parallel" request, I'll keep that in the back of my head, since we have the new announcement slot (the thing that asked you for feedback below the shoutbox, currently turned off), I need to reserve some space there.
Okay, now again: Thank you folks for your feedback!
Since I did hold back from laying out my own impressions and intentions to not-influence yours, let me do that now really quick to take you along in this.
In all honesty, to me, the best thing about the live widget is that it serves a lively first impression of this site, which the shoutbox did not deliver. New members get to see the live widget first, and with the "z z Z" sleeping indicator on the shoutbox panel, people know this does not offer an active chat - or does when the coffee mug icon shows up. This changes the impression from "this should be active but its dead since 6 hours" to "the live widget is active, but chat is sleepy, okay then", which is definitely the better impression.
The second connected improvement is that the shoutbox has a bit more privacy to it now: Those looking at it chose to do so deliberately (mind it is collapsed by default), instead of having to look at whatever went on there on any page view (unless they activated stealth mode (aka "hide me"), which used to look pretty odd as well). My hopes are that we'll return to a bit more humor and tongue-in-cheek exchange in the shoutbox, now that we are "amongst ourselfs" a bit more, solving the "first impression" vs "this should be fun" balance this way is THE major improvement here in my view.
I also like how the live widgets teaches me flags, how it surfaces some regions (I somehow love the african flags) which may not have active collaborators, and I kind of like how it mixes up the stereotypes one has about certain countries...
like Singapore digging into the BossaNova tracks, whilst Brazil is all about PunkRock - these types of impressions :D
Also interesting to watch the audience shift over the course of 24 hours... so yes, I am enjoying that. You should know that I have been watching a much less nice looking variant of wikiloops current traffic for years, so it feels like we are now sharing a bit more background picture here.
What else is left to mention?
Maybe I should note that this is really fed from live data, with a high confidence that these actions are not bots. The amount of automated bot hits from search engine crawlers, AI crawlers and AI agents is unbelievable (think: 20 bot hits for one human visitor ratio), so those are weeded out. What we see there is people enjoying our music, which is a beautiful thing to watch.
