There was that guy with high end software who was taking tracks with female vocalists, making disco beats behind them, adding auto tune and using the tracks at Dance clubs in the middle east. He found money and fame.

I've been delighted by the response to my questions here. Thank you all, and I take all the good points you've made. I enjoy finding the 'minds' behind the music.

I’m more a finisher than a templator.
I used to compose for me or for a band but many years later I’m unable to play something alone with a guitar.
Others inspire me.
Here, I have learned many things for improvement as well.
How to play not invasive, how to accompany a singer, how to breathe, how to leave (or not) space…

That's not too hard to figure out... let's see...
out of 49k templates on wikiloops, here's the split:
Multi-instrument 47,87%
guitar 16,73%
drums 9,67%
acoustic guitar 7,80%
keys 6,07%
bass 2,92%
mixer 2,53%
vocals 1,30%
Taking into account that we are at roundabout 217k tracks total, any template receives on average of 3.42 remixes - would be nice to split that down to template-instruments now, too. I can tell you this much from past evaluations: drum templates clearly lead that list :)
I'd love to know if other music communities generate these 3.4 creative responses on average, I still feel that is an outstanding high average (I know that does not cure the hurt of not getting a single remix, it does happen).
Maybe I should revive publishing some wikiloops statistics for you, these are interesting in many ways (sadly, excluding the financial stats.... different story).

Thanks for stating that, it means something to me.
To at least touch the initial topic:
I've mostly found myself starting templates or bridging the early awkwardness with simplistic basslines - that often worked to trigger that "I got to solo" instinct in guitar players. To me, doing the "finish off" would make me feel uncomfortable, the "work in progress" label doesn't feel like such a responsibility to me.
