Biography

I’m the youngest son of a family of music teachers, composers, artists and performers. I am the only one without a music degree but I was given private violin lessons once a week between the ages of 4 thru 18 and continued in college as a payed volunteer in multiple Symphonies orchestras around the Southern California area. I also spent a brief amount of time playing bass in a hip hop group I met in a studio.
I moved to The Pacific Northwest and started a business (not musically related) from gig money earned playing on a praise team and a blues bar band.
I grew up around my classically trained parents, and brothers who were in to rock/metal/jazz fusion.
As a bass guitar hobbiest I gravitated more towards the fusion stuff but also funk, such as, The Brother’s Johnson, The Meters, J B, And TOP to name a few. I’ve studied (on my own) a wide range of music, from Weather Report, Al Di Meola, Dixie Dregs, to Quincy Jones, George Duke, Brecker Brothers.
My very first album purchase was Jeff Beck, Blow by Blow and Metallica Kill em All. Only one of those albums got played over and over again...

Although bass still remains a hobby, aside from my business I still continue to work in bands as a hired gun, freelance recording, festivals, corporate gigs and clubs. I’ve been on tour 4 times in my life when I was younger and have no interest in touring unless the money is stupid good.
My most recent gig, Dec. 2018, a few months back was with Eric Struthers, Dr John’s guitarist.
(Update) February 26th, 2019- I would like to apologize for anything I released during my winter months in Southern California. I’m a player more than a recording engineer and thought I could get away with using my Westone earbuds for monitor/mix downs. Plus I’m a complete novice at that stuff so I hope you can forgive me until I get back to my home studio.

Recording devices

Current set up is (mobile set up) MacBook Pro, Logic Pro X, Home studio IMac 27” presonus studio one Pro, Sans amp di, Phil Jones amps, Roscoe custom SKB 5 string. Modified/upgraded Ibanez fretless 4string. Gretch jazz guitar and a Martin acoustic electric.
Violin, and bows are old and worth a ton.
I use a barcus berry wrap pickup and a bbe acoustic preamp.
