My drums finally in their new home! Currently just the Spaun kit as my usual Yamaha 9000 recording setup is still at my mother's house awaiting me collecting it. There's room for the Yamaha to be set up opposite the Spaun too! :)
Only other change is from previous recording setup is, as I'm using just the four-piece Spaun, I've got a Sony stereo mic for ambient pickup which can be seen in the foreground facing the kit. Next job is to start hanging some Indian cotton floor-to-ceiling curtains I have which I'll use to be able to adjust the reflections in the room. At the moment it's very resonant in there and it would be nice to dampen it just a bit!
Edit: adding pictures doesn't appear to be working so I've linked to it instead.

Thanks TeeGee. I've added a direct link too. Weird, the picture loads for me, even if I'm on a browser that doesn't have it cached!

A more recent pic of my work in progress. This is actually almost a year old now. I'll be rearranging again soon.

I don't really have a studio, just a PC with an audio interface. But for my birthday this year, I also got some small but very nice monitors:

And believe it or not - these even let you hear a good upright bass if it's well recorded, tried it with Sam Jones:

Edit: oh, and my PC is self-built, and I'm using Linux, Ardour, and other free software (like Audacity to convert MP3s to WAVs and so on). Also free plugins like Calf or TAL, and instruments like the Salamander Grand (a Yamaha C5). But with the interface I also got some commercial stuff which runs on Linux (under Wine) as well like for instance the xln audio Addictive Keys Studio Grand.
You can hear the latter played by Zuleikha, here:

Cheers,
Wolfgang

Studio's finally complete after over a year in my new house. Both kits in, gear in. Just need time on my side now to get some proper recordings done.
