ok, another har-coding weekend passed by, guess I've put another 25hours on the clock this wikiend...
this was all about creating a set of pages that can be easyly shifted to several subdomains while still accessing the root files of wikiloops main server. After working hard on getting all text snippets out of the source code and into text-only files, it has become really easy to create diffrent language interfaces. Lutz is invited to start developing the french interface, lets see how far this will go - the german subdomain is worlin fine already, still some little tasks to do there, like renaming the viewpage into something like jamtrack and replacing the "page_id" thru session id. Every used keyword counts, you know :)
the idea is that I'll have to change the language & root links within the maincore_setup file and copy that to another subdomain, and everything should be working fine. Only thing I'll have to keep in mind is creating diffrent language instrument buttons as we go along. Leading people to and fro the international forum is an issue I've tackled well so far, theres not much sense in opening a diffrent forum for each lingo I believe...
Sent out Logo-graphics to DarkHalo, hes going to do some street promo along the wes coast of the states with that! Thanks big time!
Chris is digging into ID3-tag issues, thanks a big load for investigating into that as well!!

overall feelings while getting closer to april 1st: Feelin good, thinkn I managed to gain some space ahead of things - all the work of the last week has little obvious effect, but assures wiki wll be able to grow into unknown community size. I was always scared of how to split the site to several servers one day, think I've taken a big step towards being able to do just that whenever it shall become necessary. Good to end the messed up situation with more than one langage displayed from one and the same domain, so I hope things will keep developing smoothly from now on (much is about tidy coding... once you start making compromises and start mingling language, design and code, this project becomes hard to manage - as long as I keep that in mind, everything is fine!).
Yes, I am shooting high with all I do, I know, and I hope noone is irritaded by that. Few people understood why I invested so much time when I started the project last year, now some may wonder again, but lets wait till next year before judging on the sense of theese actions :) Guess I have convinced last years doubters pretty well - member 1250 signed up yesterday :)
