three weeks down the road - this is what happened in the meantime:

unnoticed from 99.9% of you, I have finally invested a few days to update the moderation functions of wikiloops, easing the process of spotting and handling wrongly classified tracks for the mods and some more handy features so the job can be done without me working manually in the database. Its been something needing attention for a loooong time - in germany, people say "The shoemakers kids always have the worst shoes", guess that fits the situation we had before this :)

next, the wikiloops translation interface was on schedule, which took over a week to develop - in a nutshell, I can now easily set up a playground version of wikiloops and give access to people willing to help on the translation of the interface, which can now be done online and while looking at the changed language right on the live interface of wikiloops.
That is a major improvement compared to working offline with a text editor and (sometimes) without any idea where this piece of text is actually used on wikiloops.
To be able to see all possible views of a page (what a member sees, what a guest visitor sees, what a mobile user sees etc) there is a function included that lets you switch between these scenarios regardless of your log in or device - now that is something I also really like, having to sign in and out or grab for ones phone while developing was always an annoyance, so I hold this to be a majorly major improvement, even tho very few of you will get to see it. I certainly had some fun making a crazy translation featuring "the loudest jams" and an "upload a duck" button on the front page :D

If any of you reading this feels like: Well, now that sounds fun, and I have been thinking to offer translation help before - please get in touch with me, I'd really love to see more languages come available, especially those from areas where people do not ecessaryly speak english - just imagine we'd have a chinese or a russian interface, too...

I have been looking for translation help off of wikiloops, too, with a little success - I have been contacted by a friendly somebody offering help on the spanish interface, which is also desperately needed. So, one of the future tasks is to create some more documentation on the translation interface, I am currently working on a video tutorial for that.

Most nerve-wracking job of the past weeks has certainly been the tax / accounting tasks that needed attention, I have been chewing on the german taxation rules quite a bit (I have to make a huge business account for the little budget wikiloops has, like I was mercedes benz or something...)

Well, besides those rather naughty tasks, there was the organizing job for the wikiloops meeting - so far,
- the hostel is booked
- the drinks are ordered
- sound system and light is booked
- food is planned
- the press is invited
- posters have been printed
- a live stream for the home-stayers is set up and tested (thanks for the help folks!)
- a .pdf guide for those coming was issued
and we have about 20 people on the definetly-coming list. I'm counting the hours, folks, this is going to be soooo great!

Bottom line - can't complain about any lack of work here lately :)
