Still wrestling with how to dive deeper into making music, tons of ideas which for a split second seem good and then get discarded.

Living in a small town with a population of 45.000 just outside of Hamburg. Most of the clubs and concert halls I played in in my younger days in Hamburg are gone. They put up an event center in our town 15 years ago. Looked up who's on the bill for this month and 50% is tribute acts like 'one night of clapton', 'kings of floyd' etc. and the rest is...well, not of interest (diplomatically speaking). Maybe the 'MySounds Tribute Band' (officially endorsed by myself stands a chance.

Arsenal beat the hell out of Man City this evening so I'll probably be walking around with a mad grin on my face for the rest of the week. Which reminds me that this fixture was the last one I saw in the old Highbury Stadium when I lived in London some 40 years ago. Memories somewhat sketchy but I think blood was spilled after the game when we confronted some City fans. Great days indeed.

Watched a tv recording of Gregori Sokolov playing Schumann and Chopin. Sokolov always gives the impression of being a bored and grumpy old geezer but his playing is out of this world.

No Wikiloops uploads from me today, still trying to understand the positive reaction to yesterdays upload which to my own ears sounded mixingwise like something best forgotten.

Feb 3.

A wet bathroom floor after a shower is no more! Finally replaced the shower curtain my cats tore a hole through.

Did a small job over the weekend, been playing catchup from the dry spell with work in December and repairs from a minor car accident.

Drove a hour to go to the bulk warehouse grocery store and Target. Scored a guided journal on CBT , a cool shower curtain and some more cozy socks/gloves for working outside. I feel like a wimp being cold in the Arizona desert winter, I’d be a popsicle if I returned back to the northeast.

Like Shamika mentioned, many people had a similar idea to shop of course……… I felt that I was in a very strange dystopian world since this was my first time in the warehouse, Costco. Can’t say I left with a warm and fuzzy feeling, what I saved buying in bulk I paid in anxiety 😅 however, I hope that it will get easier as I keep trying.

On the drive home I stopped a few times to enjoy the scenery. Lots of wide open space.

Returned home to do a therapy session and finish the day with some yummy salad with beets, goat cheese and chickpeas. Back behind my desk I discovered of 49 editors I have pitched my track “I’m Doing Me,” 3 have promised to promote and 2 have already shared.

Considering I am deep in the creation of my next album, this kind of feedback helps me maintain momentum, encouragement and gives me a sharp little pin to pop the righteous, critical thought bubbles…
🫧 💭 🫧 💭

For so long I have chosen to allow those thoughts to lead my creative flow. From where I stand today, I have come to the conclusion that I have no idea what sounds “good” (if such a thing even exists) and when in the initial generation phase, I’d rather liberate the trapped musical ideas living inside me than trash them before they even reach the light of day because they’re “not good.” Then it turns out I have a totally different problem… so many song ideas available for development! Currently i prefer this problem…

All of the ice from our ice storm has finally melted and today the cleanup began. So many trees and limbs down in our yard. Cleanup will take nearly a month with two of us running chainsaws. 🙄 The small stuff is too green to burn so cleanup will be slow. Our yard looks like a post apocalyptic lumber mill wasteland currently. :( Overwhelming. I'm a go getter and not afraid of work. But my body is reminding me of my limitations. I nearly threw my back out tying my shoe. 🙄🤬 This getting old business is for the birds. :@ I have stuff to do! No time for a failing back. But I got to listen to a lot of great tracks yesterday as I had my earbuds in while working! Grilled out for lunch. Apparently the groundhog saw it's shadow meaning 6 more weeks of winter. But to be fair, I don't recall a time when it hasn't. Winter going to do what winter wants to do. Enjoyed being outside today even though I was working. The air was not cold enough to hurt my face. 🤷‍♀️ Resume cleanup today. Been up since 3am overthinking about all the work that needs to be done. I need like 6 of me. 🤷‍♀️

*bro cooked up the best filet i think i've ever had. up until yesterday, ruth's chris steakhouse held that position, but omg, this steak could melt in your mouth. he said it was from one of our local butcher shops and aged. it was so soft, perfectly cooked. i believe he bbq'd over mesquite outside, then into a cast iron pan with oil, butter, and herbs for a quick finish.
*mum/mom is 78 today, wow, very lucky to still have her around. she'll be moving in a couple of weeks, so will be helping her out and getting her situated in her new place. happy birthday (pic: mom, back in her Army days)
*it's morning, coffee i'm a sippin'...now back to business :)

I like the pics guys, I don't know how to add them without a URL or I'd join in :(

* I seem to have lost my confidence today, I deleted 3 songs - I should listen to Moonchild and just put them out there. The thing with a song is that there's a listener for everything, good or bad - we must remember that many listeners are not too fussy as long as they can either clap, dance, sing, tap their feet, wave arms around, laugh or cry :) They don't all notice how shitty the production or how flat the singing is - and a lyric doesn't have to be poetry every time :)

* Cold but Sunny today - finally decided to get a possible leak in the plumbing fixed. The boiler keeps losing pressure - I imagine it won't be a cheap fix. I once wrote a song called "I should have married a plumber" I think I'll see if I can find it for you !

* Remember I said that chocolate cranberries are too easy to keep popping in, well the same is true of Rolos - I say I'll limit myself to one a day but they're just so small and moreish :D

Found it :) [wl]310148[/wl]

* I uploaded a fishy song... maybe it'll do well on the net :)

-Hopefully TeeGee will get better soon. Those are the worst moments in life, but a better day will come.

- I did pullups at the gym because TeeGee can't do them now. I also held a minute of silence because the man flu is no joke.

- I made a song yesterday. I played it for half an hour and mixed for 3 hours. I didn't download it in the end because it sounded terrible.

- The sun has started to shine. A day already lasts 8 hours. A few more months and summer is here!

However, this month is often very beautiful. It's cold and bright at the same time. Well, at least here, because southern Finland doesn't necessarily have snow all winter.

The truth is that snow, northern lights and reindeer as pets of Finns are the invention of advertising men. Reindeers live in Lapland and I've seen a decent Northern Lights once in my life.

- I forgot to take a picture of my day yesterday, so I'm putting youtube link.

Opening this website is just like opening a box of chocolates for me:-

I see all the new uploads and they all look tempting - hmm, which one to choose?

* Some look soft and easy to digest!

* Some look hard but you can't wait to sink your teeth into them!

* Some seem to have been tried by lots of people and they become everyone's popular choice!

* Some look exotic, hot, tasty with a touch of spice!

* Some are fun to unwrap, they look interesting and have intriguing names!

* Some look very DARK and some are LIGHT!

Whoever said "life is like a box of chocolates" must have been to wikiloops :)

*made some chili verde yesterday, came out delicious. we had it over some nachos last night, and then again for breakfast this morning.
*work day is normal, taking a lil break.
*been tweaking a sludgy sound for the guitar, inspired by Craig's sound on a few tracks...more sludge to come i'm assuming :)
*sat outside a bit, weather is nice, a bit cloudy, but an enjoyable day thus far

Reading Nick's entries I typically feel a deep sense of food envy... I mean, admiration :D

I have been experimenting with different cuisines lately. Fried clams in a creamy italian sauce over noodles. Then, curried cabbage, carrots and cauliflower with garlic paneer. Cooking has always been a place where I can truly let go and experiment with reckless abandon but recently I've been following some recipes! Let me know if there are any dishes you think I could try.

It's not been very cold this last week in central AZ. I've been out without a jacket, it was in the high 60s F (around 20 C.) I thought to myself, oh the weather is so nice, why don't I crack this window, here. A few minutes later a strong breeze blew in and a large mirror in my music room fell and shattered glass in many directions... I should clean it up tomorrow.

LOl I get it! It's so hard at times - and at least for me, I get swallowed up by my own indecision on tracks and ideas. What sounds good, nobody knows... my take on it would be to make music that I would be happy to put on my earbuds and go ride my BSA for an hour listening to it.

*I thought I felt better yesterday morning.

Ever the optimist I thought I could go to work. Mrs. Gee vetoed that.

* So I Drove to the office to get my computer so I can at least work from home. Wore a mask to scare everyone out of the way. It worked. Everyone scattered shrieking like girlie Banshees when they saw me coming. I have a suspicion that it might not be just the mask.

*Went up to the second floor on the stairs, arrived at my office needing an oxygen tent. I guess Mrs. Gee was right.

*went to the doctors to get an official sick note for my work place. Even the nurses were afraid of me. I had to wear a mask, and then told to wait outside. It's freezing cold outside...

*doctor told me not to go to work until the end of the week.

*Thank you Aito, reading your post made me want to continue with my life. Man flu is a real thing. Women cannot understand it, but men are sensitive to it. Very sensitive and fragile when attacked by vicious angry viruses. I am considering making an appeal to the united nations to declare man flu as an official illness and get them to spend some millions on trying to find a way to reduce the horrible horrible suffering of men.

-I practiced escrima for three hours yesterday. Tired today.

- I don't want to count how many cups of coffee I've had today. I think I'll drink an energy drink next. Oh yeah..I took a caffeine tablet before going to the gym.

-I'm fighting gravity right now. I can't get off the couch. The bass is two meters away from me, but picking it up would require moving.

-I'm tired!!!

If I measure the distance in feet, it would mean that I have to walk. No thank you! :D

Your question reminded me of a meme i just saw, but I won't put it here. :D
