I use Waves J27 Tape Saturation and even though its a saturation plug in, it has a marvelous preset called "Mix-Mids" and brings out the lower mids resulting in mixes that come thru great on phone speakers as well as on pro studio monitors. Not quite sure how it does that but it works great for it. Eq'ing lower mids is the ticket for consistant good sound across multiple speakers from good to bad.
