Yes Nick! If I could give you more thumbs up, I would.
I’m listening in my car and it’s sounds great!
Song wise, the first two sections (first half of song) just you singing with the guitar imho, stands as is . The solo on third section , if a full band kick in , it’s gonna be powerhouse. Wow wow wow! Great stuff! It’s like a Nazareth “Love Hurts” style ballad I would have had on my Makeout Music cassette tape in high school!
This is old school Saturday Night make out music, Yes sir!
Just take Mrs Rootshell for a night out in the ‘78 Chevy Monte Carlo, park in a dark spot, and play this , you’ll be having a good evening! Yes sirry! +2

I just make long winded suggestions, its all you.You are doing the work. I will say I also notice now that your over the basic learning hump, you are getting more comfortable and that in turn is bringing out your style. That applies to guitar, vocals and creativity. Your style is starting to come out. From here on you got a foundation to grow in all areas. Just keep watching Youtube vids or googling "how did they do that in that song?".If you hit a non inspired songwriting pocket, which occasionally happens, learn delays, comps etc... and what the knobbies on the effects do.A great way to learn is find a sound guys video channel and see if he made a video of his favorite plug ins. Those teach alot. Always try to maintain a high standard. You know what that is.
My car stereo is nothing special but I consider it a average listening quality system and man did your vocal and guitar sound good on it. The mid ranges were all perfect, no muddiness, volume was perfect compared to other stuff I listened too...I listened to it looped all the way to Home Depot and back and I just had idea after idea after idea in my head for a bass part, harmony part, drums come in here...etc.... It inpired me.
Tell yourself , everytime you open up the home studio "I am the musician I have always wanted to be". +2

those 78 monte carlo's were nice back in the day. i had a 76 oldsmobile cutlass supreme, with that big 454 engine...felt like i was driving a fast n heavy boat :D
you have helped a lot Joe, i really mean that. the more i learn, the more it feels like it's purposeful "adjustments" and not just random tweaking. little did i know at the time, that i had outgrown Audacity and Reaper would open up another door. as stubborn as i was in delaying switching, you did help push me that way with the info and tutorials <3 thanks again! :W +2
