I hope it is not too annoying that i keep fiddling with various drum tracks. It is really cool to dial each track in, particularly the EQ-ing. Using a parametric eq , i then sweep for "odd" sounds- like a phase-y, through a tube kind of sound. Then i pull those down, and adjust a little more. Bass drum right around 65 like clockwork! Then compress. And most important, mix with the original track. correct? i dunno. fun? fo

GrooveEnth yeah - I find myself increasingly interested in it. It's a real challenge (for me at least) to get a good sounding mix! +1

BuzzBomber I like what i am doing here, but as it is new to me i will bet I am over doing it. At the same time it is easy to hear the difference from the original, and i assume the way to get better is to do a bunch.
I find mixing my own voice to be a particular challenge, as if I can hear it even if it is turned down; also my ears fatigue from critical listening, now that i am paying attention +1

GrooveEnth I don't know if you're already familiar with these videos but I'm finding them really interesting insights into high-end production... +1

BuzzBomber That is really interesting. I wonder how he accesses those tracks? It is interesting to hear the individual tracks, they sound different with their context pulled away... +0

BuzzBomber Thanks, they are really MrAdam's drums, but I tweaked 'em. This is where my knob practice seems to really pay off! +0
